Right on the money, slashsix. I'm a huge fan of Silverton (and Amma's kitchen...)

Good luck with your house search! As I'm sure you know, finding 4+ BRs can be a real challenge...

Hadn't thought of Silverton. Great call on that and Pleasant Ridge.
I'll be up for final rounds next week and will drive through. Had just looked at a house at Victory/Ashland -- sad news, and thanks for making me aware.

Thanks all!

the problem at Ashland and Victory is the Alms. I thought it was closed, but apparently not. I went through it a couple of years ago for a client. the City was offering to pay a developer to take it and clear out the squatters and drug dealers. They had running gun battles inside the building. There were tunnels cut through the walls to create escape routes and there were parts inside barricaded, etc. It was a real nightmare.

If its closed, good news. If not, still a problem.

It is great to hear people presenting positive improvements in some of the City neighborhoods. I love seeing some of the older City neighborhoods are on the upswing.

While I have never lived in the City, born and raised in the suburbs, still consider myself a Cincinnatian. In my estimation too much argument about urban versus suburban.

The Alms hasn't been emptied yet. It's still remains a hive for crime, unfortunately. It's sad, because it used to be a really nice hotel (of course, Walnut Hills used to be nice as well).

LOVE Paddock Hills. have a friend whose family lives there. Super charming quiet neighborhood with terrific old homes. And EASY access to highways and major roads.

If the Alms went away, the character of 80% of Walnut Hills changes overnight.

The Alms changed hands a few years ago to a buyer who made many promises to the city to clean it up. However, he kept none of those. Found it profitable to keep it the s***hole that it is.
