Of course, I'm referring to this controversy:

Reality show about Warren Co. swingers sparks controversy

What's your take on it? Will Hamilton Township have its 15 minutes of fame and then the whole controversy goes away? Or will this become a part of Greater Cincinnati lore, a la "The People vs. Larry Flynt"?

I'm betting on the former - I mean, the biggest movie in the country (or at least the most talked about movie) is 50 Shades of Grey.

Just another example of how suburbanites, transplants and other assorted "people from away" have ruined Warren County. I have a lot of fond high school memories of the Club SinDay building of drinking beer and playing music 35 years ago when it was The Faucett.

I'm a non-native who's not far from the area in question. I don't feel like I've ruined Warren County. But I do understand what you're getting at, as a lot of the suburbanites and transplants out here have attitude problems.

Exactly, in that case you are not part of the problem, most of the people here now don't know how things used to be when it was rural farm country and people had a salt of the earth character.

Frankly don't give a Rat's Ass about those moving into Warren Co. perceive it. Only care about those living here. Far as I can see that is not changing very much. People move here for the schools #1 and everything else falls in line.

Have lived here for almost 40 years now, and don't desire to go anyplace else. Talk about attitudes or whatever, I simply talk about where people desire to live. The reason there are so many people here is very simple, it is a great place to raise a family, the most desired objective of the majority of Americans.

So many people lead transient lives these days, bouncing from job to job and city to city. At each stop they're buying a tract house in a suburb which could easily be the one they just moved away from. There's no sense of permanence much less community. It's no surprise that among these sorts of individuals are some who have carried this mentality of "everything's disposable" right into their marriages. And it's not like this is anything new either - I used to hear about "swingers" now and then in the "liberated" '60s and '70s.

Blushing deep red the way only WASPs can...Yours Truly joined an "orgy club," for purely academic reasons of course, about 20 years ago and attended two of their parties. BORING!!! Some of the "guests" paired off and went at it like they were washing dishes. Mostly people just stood around, not even "excited." They were more like "there's nothing on TV and I've got an hour to kill, so I might as well stand around watching people have sex like they're washing dishes." Vanilla has always been my flavor of choice, and after that foray into the "wild, exciting" realm of swingers I don't foresee that changing. LOL

Can't identify what the controversy is all about. To me these subliminal goings on have been happening forever. If you let them affect your actual life that is your fault. In my case could care less. Live your life as you believe it should be lived. Let those who want something else go their direction, they won't be around long.

This is absolutely hilarious!!

I can't wait to watch it. The Warren County swingers. Fast times and loose sex in the stuffy conservative midwest. Only thing that would make it better is if it were filmed in Monroe.

IMO it's a better fit city (sex shops, race tracks, flea markets, faux fashion at the outlet mall, holy roller church) and has the added benefit of being 5 miles from Boehner's house!

Either way, this show is going to be a hoot!

Bullseye. There is a lot that I could post about the difference between 1966 or 1973 vs. now but I have to be at work by noon tomorrow.

In 2009 I happened to be in Cincinnati at the same time a big convention was going on downtown. That in and of itself isn't worthy of note. What bears mentioning is WHAT convention it was. Women (without exception women) thronged the streets, many in gray and pink business/casual clothing, wearing large pins marked "Pure Romance." I buttonholed a hotel valet. "Is this a Harlequin novel readers' get-together, or what?" He laughed and informed me that Pure Romance is a "sexual aid device" company! Some passersby had been drawn to what they'd overheard. The jokes started flying about buying batteries before the run on them that night, weird mechanical buzzing all up and down hotel hallways, etc. LOL!!!

And now "Pure Romance" has its corporate headquarters in...Cincinnati! all over again!
