The best thing about this is they want to build apartments on top of the store. I hope they design a better looking building the Kroger GO building....and since this is just a block from my work I hope they offer a nice salad bar/deli for lunch crowds.

I read that this could be similar to 8th and Sycamore, with 8 floors of parking and another 8 floors of apartments. The first two levels are retail.

Agreed. This is truly "show-and-tell" time for Kroger vis-a-vis Cincinnati. For several years now there's been ample speculation about what Kroger will do in its hometown. Although the secret dream of many (including myself) is that Kroger will erect some 750-800 ft. tower befitting its status as the nation's largest traditional grocery chain, that's not going to happen. Nevertheless, the company does need to ramp it up with a really upscale, special urban store at this particular location, in such close proximity to its own nondescript headquarters.

Yes, I also read this on another forum where such surprising and welcome news has engendered a truly thoughtful discussion. At this point, it's anyone's guess to how much Kroger's new store will resemble the development at 8th & Sycamore.
