No, Fort Worth Meacham isn't an international airport. Hell, it isn't even a commercial airport and probably won't ever be. DFW is Fort Worth's airport for the foreseeable future. It's city limits end right at the airport's main entrance (and American Airlines' headquarters).
I'm just not seeing how Miami, and even Atlanta are above both Houston and Dallas. Houston and Dallas are still growing pretty fast, they have much larger GDPs than both, more Fortune 500 companies than both (and probably more companies in general), etc. Miami may be a big tourist area, and there may be many shows/movies filmed there, but I don't think that makes it more important. Miami's ports are small compared to Houston area ports, for one. The fact that Houston's economy (GDP) is almost twice as large as both Atlanta's AND Miami's should mean something. DFW's isn't quite there, but still is far ahead of both Miami and Atlanta.
Miami has a stronger connection to the Caribbean and Latin America than the South. If Miami were to evaporate right now (God forbid), I think the ramifications would be felt much more acutely in Cuba than Charlotte.
I can agree with everything except the Charlotte part.
Miami is a joke... it doesn't fell like a real city, very weak economy and lack of real businesses. This city is all about party, night scene, refs, and international issues... Atlanta, Houston and Dallas have stronger economies, real corporations and more educated people than Miami... Never been in Atlanta, or Texas but I've read enough articles to realize what's the scene on those cities... Miami has some real issues: real estate fraud, foreclusures everywhere, medicare fraud, corruption to the highest, too expensive and salaries extremely low, higher crime , fraud, fraud, fraud, and too many others to mention, and of course 95% of those issues came learned from Cuba and other 3rd world countries...
Miami Airport had over 35,000,000 Passengers because Orlando International had more than 33,000,000 . Before you decide to try and bash me get your facts straight about a state you don't live in, follow, or have no clue about.
I work as an airline consultant. I have access to data that is not available online.
Frankly, you are not going to take on me on an airline related topic and win unless you are upper management at an airline or consulting firm. My figure for Miami is very much correct. They are the finals for 2009.

I've explained this before, the reason why Miami's GDP isn't as high as other major cities is because the city limits are so small, some 35 sq mi. If you include the whole metropolitan area the GDP goes way up. The City Of Miami is one of the poorest in the country, but South Florida Metropolitan Area is one of the richest in the country.

Exactly why I posted a METRO, but people refuse to accept the word METRO
Jesus Christ!!! The number I gave was 33,886,025. The article says 33.9 million. The article and I are in agreement. Youre the one who challenged my data, not the article.
Just stop dude. You lose this round. Stick to arguing about Miami's nightlife.
