Can't believe I hadn't thought of this one before. I was in the U district over spring break and Westwood last night, and I must say they reminded me of one another. Obviously they have universities in common but also hookah bars, ethnic restaurants, late nightlife, young crowds and good street-level vibrancy seem plentiful in both.

So which do you prefer?
And which has better/more:

- dining
- public transit access
- nightlife
- density
etc.

Seattle's University District reminds me more of a college town environment.

Westwood, also a college area, is not as purely dominated by college students and is actually quite integrated into the surrounding areas and a bit more upscale. Like around Wilshire Blvd its like totally NOT a college town look or vibe but totally corporate looking.

That said, I think I'll vote for the University District in Seattle if your looking for the quintessential college neighborhoood.
