If you're considering either of these cities for possible relocation then you need to be far more specific with what you'd like to compare betweent the two as your posting is very vague.
I can see someone with a tech background contemplating job offers in both cities, but it seems that the other factors are so different there is little comparison. IOW, it shouldn't take a message board to decide which one suits you.
As compared to the poster who had job possibilities in Huntsville, Augusta and Knoxville and needed to choose a mid size southeasten city.
I might go with Huntsville because I'm more conservative and less into big cities. Not that Huntsville is that conservative, or at least I've heard it's not that conservative, but probably moreso than anything in the Bay Area.
