they both are terrible in summer, but I'll go with the southwest because at least in the SE there are trees, and thunderstorms pretty much every day to cool off the environment, and I'm sorry but I actually like GREEN during summer......

I live in the Southeast and personally believe there are too many trees and thunderstorms for that matter!
Tell that to Georgia and South Carolina. We're in a drought.lol.
yea for real.....but still hot and humid. lol we need some thunderstorms right now, we need a low to develop in the gulf of mexico and go up through the Panhandle of FL, and up into Central GA, that'll give us LOTS of rain
For those that say the southwest is the worst, they are probably playing off of Phoenix' heat. Here in Abq, it is mid 90's with thunderstorms typically every other day in the July evenings which cool things off nicely. Granted these thunderstorms bring nothing like what other parts of the country are use to, it's a nice bit of relief here. Also, the lack of humidity here is a great thing. I'd take the summers here, but then, this is what I am use to as I was born and raised here. Spent a week in late June in the south and the heat here is much more bearable IMO as that humidity makes u sweat and the BUGS were EVERYWHERE!!!

yea I agree not all of the Southwest is like that. Places like Taos, Flagstaff, etc. Have very pleasant summer temps with highs generally in the Low 80s and lows in the upper 40s. But we have places like that in the south too, in the mountains of Western NC places like Waynesville, Maggie Valley and further to the NE like Boone have highs in the Upper 70s/Low 80s and lows in the 50s even in the middle of July
