I picked Seattle because San Francisco wins everything on this forum. Time to give another city a chance

Might want to check out //www.city-data.com/forum/city-...s-seattle.html

Might also want to read the stickies before posting. Google is your friend if you don't want to search through all the threads.

In terms of public transportation, downtown vibrancy, and population there is no debate. By every objective measure, it's SF.

For all the others, its a matter of preference. The Bay Area as a whole has much better weather than the Seattle Metro area as a whole, in my opinion.

- Public transportation: San Francisco

- Education: San Francisco (UCSF), nearby San Jose MSA has Stanford, and Oakland has Berkeley

- Recreational activities: Tie

- Natural scenery: Seattle just slightly. Both are the best in the nation.

- Population (city, MSA, CSA, etc.): City- San Francisco, MSA- San Francisco (shared with Oakland), CSA- San Francisco (Shared with San Jose & Oakland)

- Skyline: Seattle hands down, San Francisco is decent though.

- Downtown vibrancy: San Francisco hands down, Seattle would I can imagine being decent.

- Location: Seattle is you want isolation and proximity to Canada (Vancouver), San Francisco if you want more closer destinations.

- Weather: San Francisco

- Economy: Seattle for stability and growth, San Francisco for sheer size and influence. Seattle is doing great right now, and its industries are much similar to San Francisco.

I voted Seattle, like SoCalBrad said, San Francisco steals every poll! But really, Seattle is one of my top 4 favorite cities.
