its not about being prejudiced against west indians. crown heights is in NO WAY, SHAPE OR FORM on the level of harlem as far as significance and history in this city.

So true. Black people always get labeled as angry or whatever but as a group we are the most forgiving. White people started a war over a tea tax. Irish, Palestinians, will blow you to Timbuktu for messing with their land. And many Japanese still in some ways follow many of those old warrior culture traditions they just don't have a military now.

Good point. Considering what went down in the US, blacks have been pretty forgiving.

Anyone thinking Jazz had a big contribution from africa or the islands is delusional. Black americans were completely removed from Africa for generations, maybe hundreds of generations removed, by the time jazz was created
95% of hip hop was black american. Hip hop was created by hundreds of people, mainly 17 year olds who would party on saturday and had a science project due monday lol,they could careless about a damn africa or jamaica

harlem and crown heights look exactly the same only difference is that one is black american and the other is west indians.
just like harlem was the mecca for black americans. areas like crown heights and flatbush are the meccas of west indians. go to jamaican or haiti right now and people over their even know what flatbush avenue is.
And they say Black Americans ain't prejudice against Foreign non-American Blacks.........
just ask the haitians they have plenty to say of ethnic racism acts from black americans.
black americans are good people but the youth who live in these urban cities can be very ignorant especially towards immigrants. just ask jamaicans, and haitians and theyll tell you most of their beefs started when black americans called them names or had days when they would go and beat them up.
