Houston has not annexed anything in my generation. stop spreading lies.
At least we didn't take up the entire county Like Philly did. What would you guys say if we swallowed up all of Harris County?

Philly is 132 sq miles with a density of ~12K ppsm
Houston City is 600+ sq miles with a density of ~4K ppsm
The inner loop of Houston is ~90 sq miles with density of ~6.5 ppsm
Now on the annexation it is actually very beneficial in that it consolidates the municipality and jurisdiction. From a planning, taxing, and servicing standpoint it is very beneficial and many smaller municipalities/cities in other large metros would benefit from the larger size so that is actually a very beneficial aspect and is mostly a very good thing for Houston proper. On comparative population metrics it is what it is but makes for difficult comparators in actual city sizes...

That is wonderful and I am sure a great place but how does that address my point - you alluded that people in the city can not afford suburban living which is absurd - true on some accounts and not true on others and some people move one direction and some move another
Well could fit a couple of counties inside of Houston, not to mention harris county
