And guess who "denies" that Philly is a more walkable city than Chicago? Walk Score

Philadelphia Ranked As The 5th Most Walkable City In The U.S. | Uwishunu - Philadelphia Blog About Things to Do, Events, Restaurants, Food, Nightlife and More

But 4 and 5th aren't bad...but seriously....are you THAT ignorant of Chicago?

"Philadelphia’s bicycle mode share (which means the percentage of commuters who bike to work) is twice as high as the next-best major city, Chicago."

None of these areas is the North Philadelphia anyone is referring to (or comparing to Southside Chicago). Even for SS Chicago, people there have examples of quaint, charming walkable villages, such as Hyde Park (N and E of university).

Firts of all, that info is from 2011, and it relies on stats provided from a Philadelphia pro-bike organization...which obviously is interested in making Philly look good.

Secondly, their 2014 stats report that The share difference between PHI and CHI is now only 2.3 to 1.6 (if you believe the figures)

And thirdly, Chicago has one of the most wildly successful bike sharing programs in the country, and Philly hasn't even launched one yet.

And Mount Airy...Ok, so you are referring to specific areas in North Philly, not the entire Northern half of Philadelphia as you stated before. I'm glad to help!

When did I ever say anything about the Southside of Chicago?

Haha, it is not that serious and obviously the two cities are very close on these metrics.

But Philly will always have superior pretzels...an ideal snack food for biking.

At least my link was based on actual Census data. That list mentions "smart, savvy bike shops, vibrant and diverse bike culture" as measures. How is that accurately measured? It also seems they ranked Philly lower because of an accident from 5 years ago.

"Philly suffered a setback in late 2009 when a cyclist struck and killed a pedestrian, causing outrage to erupt against the cyclists at large. But besides that, Philadelphia is very bike-friendly, with lanes, greenways and a diverse cycling community."

FWIW I do not even remember that incident and seriously doubt it caused outrage to erupt against cyclist at large haha.
