Well the residents of these towns are either going to LOVE or HATE this article. Either more economic stimulation or real estate appreciation, then more community demands which leads to tax increases, so on and so forth as the trend goes when someplace is discovered and shows up on the radar. I've never heard of Lewisburg, WV. But now if somebody mentions it, I know of it from this distinct form of noteriety, as will many others.
Cedar Key looks pretty cool. Nice to see a place on the Florida coast that hasn't been bombarded with concrete development.
These are always cool annual rankings, because they do often expose interesting small towns across the country that most people have never heard about in their lives and are worth a visit.
However -- while I'm not sure as to accuracy of writing on the other towns -- their description of Newton, PA is very off-base (it's nowhere near Amish county and has always been in an "old money" type of area).
Yeah, the Newtown one is way off. Unless, they consider being close to Amish Country as being 2 hours away. And alot of homes there are expensive, so I do expect to see "millionaires tooling around in a fancy car".

Yeah agree, Newtown Borough is a great little town but Amish country it is not. It is home to one of the best SPAs on the East Coast (among numerous others) David Whitchell and has many high end restaurants and boutiques.
It is also sorrounded by mass expensive sprawl and has one of the best public school districts (Council Rock) in America.
I spent half my youth in this area and by no means would call it Amish Country. The closest thing may be how the town was used as a M Knight backdrop for Signs
But Newtown is a great little town and does have the oldest Movie House in America - to me just one of many great examples of little towns found all over the NE, even in the middle of suburban sprawl
Money magazine just published their own list, and it differs from this list.
All of these lists are more just buzz etc. the places change every year basically and are more PR and interest for the readers etc. I wouldnt take too much stock in any of these lists.
