CA and TX are quite large. I don't know if this would be a fair comparison. I think it should be CA and TX vs NY, PA, NJ, CT, MA.

While in land area it's totally unfair....I'll still vote for Pennsylvania and New York in general.

Should have provided some links>>>>>

Pennsylvania - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

New York - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Texas - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

California - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

These are kind of weird combinations. Texas is like less expensive, more conservative California. Pennsylvania is like a less expensive, more conservative New York.

Economy: NY/PA

Texas has the best economy of the four states, but being paired with California really drags it down, because the economies in New York and Pennsylvania aren't much worse than Texas.

Food: Push

California and Texas have In-N-Out Burger, BBQ and good Mexican food, but New York and Pennsylvania have a wide variety of European foods, and Pennsylvania in particular is the junk food capital of the U.S.

Weather: NY/PA

California and Texas both have a wide variety of weather within themselves, but it tends to be more extreme, with blizzards and triple-digit heat both being common, plus tornadoes in Texas and earthquakes in California. (I know an earthquake isn't a "weather" event, but it is a natural phenomenon.) New York and Pennsylvania have all four seasons, and they tend to be less extreme.

Sports: NY/PA

In the last five years, New York and Pennsylvania have combined for six championships in nine appearances while California and Texas have combined for four championships in seven appearances, which Pennsylvania alone equals.

Lifestyle: Push

California and New York are more flashy while Texas and Pennsylvania are more modest.

Housing: NY/PA

New York and Pennsylvania have more classic designs, and California has its Spanish influence, but nothing about housing in Texas stands out aside from the tornado-proof concrete rooms.

Diversity: CA/TX

California and Texas both have larger Asian and Latin American populations than New York and Pennsylvania.

Geographic diversity: CA/TX

New York and Pennsylvania are mostly low mountains and coastal plains while California and Texas have tall mountains, flat plains and deserts.

Economy- CalTex- even in troubled times these two still have very large Economies and Texas is not doing too poorly
Food- CalTex
Weather-CalTex
Sports- TIE, NYC, Philly and Pitts are excellent, but CALTEX has the Lakers, The Spurs, The Cowboys, The Rockets and a whole lot of others
Lifestyle- CalTex- but I am biased because my lifestyle preference is where I live
Housing- CalTex another one of my preferences
Diversity- CalTex- SF,Houston and LA hold their own against NY and beat out PHilly and Pitts
Geographic Diversity CalTex by a mile
Scenery- CalTex

I think the only area that NEWPenn would be close for me in the categories given would be sports because NY kills in Baseball.
In terms of FootBall they would have similar numbers.
In Terms of basketball CalTex Kills with over 20 championships

the rest of the categories, I prefer Caltex

California and Texas combined have a $3 Trillion Gross Domestic Product.

New York/Pennsylania would still be the Finance King, but California/Texas would own both Technology and Energy.
