The funny thing is that while SF has been worrying about Manhattanization, the northern and downtown waterfront parts have been going through Bay Arealization where a lot of the interesting arts and ethnic communities are displaced and have left entirely, a lot of new jerkboxes are being put up to house affluent tech sector workers, rent in those areas have maintained their ridiculous climb, and skyscrapers continue to get plopped down.

That doesn't seem too different from what's happening in Manhattan and Brooklyn if you take out tech workers and replace skyscrapers getting plopped down with a massive skyscraper boom.

I know SF did just get their first super tall recently though: The Salesforce Tower

Right, they're facing similar trends.

Brooklyn's first super tall is currently under construction and it looks pretty out of place.

Oh yeah, it looks totally out of place, but I think it looks badass and I love it.
It's by the same architects behind The Copper Building and Steinway Tower in Manhattan

On top of the Salesforce tower, San Francisco also has another really cool building under construction: The Oceanwide Center

I would love to see this in person one day.
These are the same people behind the diamond design for 2 World Trade Center in NYC.
