Trust me Miami is way more fun with greater mentality. L.A is not what it looks like what they show on T.V.

The pollutuion is horrible.

Is any place what it is portrayed to look like on T.V.?? Was "Miami Vice" anything like the real Miami? Come on...a Miami detective in a $400 suit? I don't think so....only the cocaine dealers can afford that.

The "smog" in Los Angeles stems from an inversion layer caused by LA's unique geogrpahy of ocean and mountains. No denying that is an issue. The good news is California has the toughest environmental laws in the nation and the air quality in LA has improved over the past 20 or 30 years....and it will GET EVEN BETTER in time.

OVERALL if you are WEALTHY --- L.A. (CALIFORNIA) Since is bigger than Miami, there are more places to go and the best of the best. (RODEO DRIVE, Laguna Beach, South Coast Plaza, Katzuya, The grove) There is EVERYTHING IN CALI.

If you are not RICH --- Miami. There are still lots of amazing restaurant, nightclubs, hotels.
Since there is less population, you do get to know many people. You can build a network with good connections. If you go to a club you have a better change to go to the VIP and if there are celebrities, you have a better chance to get to know them. If you speak spanish, you are good to go. BEACH, Tanning, Night LIFE!! Also since in Miami there are a lot of people that don't speak English and don't really get an education instead they do "business". BETTER for you!!!!! Study a nice career, Ex. become a Lawyer, find yourself a job in a law office in Brickel with an amazing view and rent in any of the NICE apartment with breathtaking view (it goes anywhere from $1000 - $ 2000, you can also find a roommate) HEY YOU ARE SET!!!

Overall weather in L.A. is better than in Miami. During the winter, it's warmer in L.A than it is in Miami. It gets quite cold in some days in South Florida in the winter time. The Miami summers are terrible being so hot and humid. How any human being can stay there during the summer is beyond me. While L.A. summers and fall are breathtaking.

I think the culture of Miami is better than LA where people are a little or very stuck up. LA has a lot to do but everything is so spread apart and a hassle to get anywhere. You waste A LOT OF TIME driving in traffic. The biggest downfall is that there is no big city feel. Miami is a fun place for water recreation and being surrounded by water just makes me happy. You can get a boat or jet skis...drive to Key West...the drive itself is amazing. While you are in Miami you can fly to the Caribbean for cheap and go on all the cruises that people pay thousands of dollars to visit. LA has pockets of decent places to go but unless you live right in the heart of one of those places it is a hassle to drive. The lifestyle is definitely more active in Miami and you can tell by the physique. There are many obese people in LA probably because everyone drives everywhere. It is close to many hot spots on the East Coast like NY and cheap to visit.
This was pretty silly coming from a Miami resident. The hub of his region is 35 sq miles and is less populated than Long Beach, which is just an L.A. satellite city. And he's talking about lack of big city feel here?

Miami may have a freeze warning from time to time, but for most of winter the average temps are 65-78 with a cool breeze.

I agree with No. 1...overall LA has a more pleasant climate.

You are simply wrong about No. 2....Miami is CONSIDERABLY warmer on a typical winter day than Los Angeles in winter.

True, although you wouldn't know it right now. It might be more accurate to say LA is considerably colder on a winter night than Miami. Avg Jan high in MIA is 74 v 68 in LA, which is ballpark. But the overnight lows are a different matter.

not right now it isn't. It's warmer in the 70's in L.A., while it's in the mid 60's in Miami.
