I think that NY and LA should be in their own teirs: 1 and 2. Or, Teir 1 should be NY, then LA and Chicago in Teir 2.

Beta+: Houston
Beta: Minneapolis, Seattle
Beta-: Denver, Detroit, San Diego, St Louis

I suppose these could be tiers. Some cities might seem to be in odd places, but here is the link,

Not to nitpick, but you forgot Cleveland on the Beta- list.

I agree. Although NY & LA could be same tier even though NY is larger. Theres a huge gap between LA and Chi or Bay Area

NY
LA

The lack of new york cities hurts the credibility of this list.
Buffalo and Rochester need to be included somewhere in 5 or 6.

Also no Providence? New Hartford?

The east coast deserves more recognition than this list provides.

San Antonio should rank tier 4a And Austin to tier 5. Phoenix deserves to move up to at least 4a possibly 4. Pittsburgh is to high in my opinion i would rank it 4a.

Buffalo is not an elite city, not anymore. Rochester is NY State's second city, and is a cut above Buffalo, yet Rochester isnt quite elite either...

Providence probably isnt too far from being included on this list. I love Providence...

Nah, LA is absolutely a big city and is definitely above Chicago, unless your standard for "big city" is only a comparison of skylines.

LA is a city by every standards, and a big city at that. What are "big city standards" anyway? A collection of skyscrapers?

The way I see it, you can either put NY and LA together in tier 1 or you can put LA and Chicago together in tier 2. Both thoughts would have legitimate arguments for it and are conceivable and not outrageous. Personally, in terms of tiers, I think LA should be in its own tier, above Chicago.

Tier 1: NYC
Tier 2: LA
Tier 3: Chicago
Tier 4: D.C. and SF

If Memphis Columbus and Cleveland
Are considered elite then so are buff and roch. Fact is the op's list suffers from severe bias against the east coast. To only include 3 cities from the country's top economic and cultural region is just plain embarrassing and wrong
