Love Houston cant stand River Oaks they blocked the metro rail from going Downtown to Galleria area NIMBY's attitude.
Buckhead reminds me of North Dallas and Uptown park area, same type of developments and they look similar.

Actually the rail was supposed to be built on Richmond Avenue into a little 1950's subdivision called Afton Oaks. How they could cope with the hundreds of thousands of cars in front of the houses along Richmond Avenue, but not a light rail line in the median and the left lanes that could take most of those commuters cars off the roads astounds me?
For the record, Afton Oaks is not River Oaks. River Oaks is north of Westheimer, south of Buffalo Bayou, west of Kirby and east of the railroad tracks that parallel 610. Afton Oaks is more properly considered part of The Galleria and stands in the way between Uptown and Greenway Plaza business districts.
What about River Oaks District vs Streets of Buckhead?
That would be a no brainer. River Oaks easily. For the record, i think Buckhead is better than River Oaks. But River Oaks Districts attracts name brands that would never think about entering Atlanta.
Why is this a comparison? They are very different places. River Oaks is an ultra wealthy neighborhood with a a few segments of high end shopping and steakhouses. Buckhead is a business district that's on the more affluent side. If there's a neighborhood in Houston that's similar to Buckhead, it would be Uptown.
Buckhead’s Tuxedo Park would be comparable to River Oaks.
Buck head > Uptown
River Oaks >>>> Tuxedo Park
