Looks like Hoston's South Asian population is a little more divese but not by much.
Thanks for the data! Reps to you.
Thats pretty much what I was saying. Houston has more Pakistanis, Dallas has more Indians (and Nepalese too it looks like) and the rest of the differences are so insignificant, they arent even worth talking about.
More Hypocrisy from pollster31. You created another thread about whose more INTEGRATED, California or the Northeast.
Speaking of integration, Asian Indians in the Bay Area are a major presence in some of the most desirable and swank suburbs and towns in the entire state of California.

Mountain View, Cupertino, Palo Alto, Sunnyvale etc are all commanding place names in the world of business, power and wealth these days.
And Indians are prominent in those places.
You have some catching up to do.
What's that supposed to prove? Look, we have more South Asians (that includes more than India) than you can even count. Just because you get all the rich ones, while we get the ones that represent Indian society a BIT more doesn't mean that you're better in any way.
And if you add up all your population, it still doesn't come even CLOSE to NY's Indian population
We win, and you lose. Sit in the back, Californian. Let all rest of the country speak.
I don't think the Bay Area has anything like Devon Avenue (in Chicago)...never mind Jackson Heights, Edison, etc.

Where are all of Fremont's Indian shops? Or San Jose? Or Sunnyvale? Or any of those towns you listed?
Do they even come close to being like Jackson Heights? Edison? Devon Avenue? Or even Houston's Mahatma Gandhi district?
Not having a Little India for having South Asian options. Indians alone are 6.4% of the city of San Jose. Thats a crazy high concentration for a city that size.
Im not aware of one in the Bay Area, but the Bay Area is the uncontested number two to NYC for everything South Asian.
I might as well give my list (my opinion):
NYC
Bay Area
Chicago
DC
LA/Dallas/Houston/Philly (LA slightly ahead of the others)
Atlanta
Boston

The Bay Area MAY have the population to be #2 (though I would dispute that notion because SF MSA and SJ MSA have less than LA MSA) but they don't have the same cultural impact on the area as Chinese or Mexican people do, unlike in Chicago, Houston, DC, or Dallas where they are a big part of the cultural scene.
That's what a Little India is important: so you know exactly where to find all the Indian stuff!
The worst part about this argument is that you place limitations on what is and what is not, the 'best option' for South Asians.
Basically your saying its bad to assimilate and become prosperous, educated Americans who happen to be South Asian.
If I were an immigrant, I wouldnt come to the US to recreate where I came from, but seek out the best that America has to offer.
And that is exactly what the Bay Area is. The best that America has to offer.(HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA)
Excuse me? NYC is the best America has to offer...not your small-time metro area that isn't even more populated than NYC itself Come back to me when the Bay Area has more people than NYC
So what you're saying is that Fremont and San Jose HAVE no commercial Indian center. Ok. Exactly why most people in real life would rate it below Houston or Dallas or even Los Angeles.
