I like warmer weather so I'd rather live in San Antonio. Whatever San Antonio lacks it's not a far drive to Austin to make up for it.
San Antonio is about 700k bigger than nashville. Both are desirable cities, but San Antonio is growing faster and is an all around bigger city. Ive been to both Memphis and nashville, My friends cousin that lived there called it Nashvegas, not sure why. It was an alright city nothing bad to say.

Do either of these cities have public transportation that is not just buses?
Nashville has a single commuter rail line...but it's not very significant at this point. It's a trial line that was done for very low cost...so it actually doesn't even serve any of Nashville's largest suburbs.
Other than that...pretty much buses, shuttles, and trolleys for Nashville. There is a cool new free bus circuit that runs through a few routes downtown.
Its also close to the Texas Hill Country & Gulf Coast. I'm a fanatic for anything tropical.
I agree.
