My husband and I along with our two small children ages 3 and 6 months will be moving from Iowa in order for my husband to attend graduate school. I had a previous post in which I asked opinions on various cities and greatly appreciated the responses. However, we have now narrowed it down more specifically. I am seeking input regarding others opinions regarding these two cities. We enjoy lots of outdoor activities, family friendly activities including museums, kids events etc., sporting events (particulary college), and music. We both work as Registered Nurses. I have always wanted to live near the ocean and realize this is not located in TN but culd suffice for the rivers/lakes. I am trying to escape the cold winters and go somewhere with natural beauty. Any advice is much appreciated!! We do have a 9 year old dog as well.
Have you been to Chattanooga? It will fullfill all of your requirements. It's a wonderful place -- truly beautiful with a nice mix of outdoorsy and cultural events. Great place for kids too. You will miss the ocean, but you will love being on the river -- lots of water activities, and lots of beautiful waterfront scenery which will be a part of your daily life. Unfortunately I can't compare it to Wilmington. I've never been.
Thank you so much for the information! He is already admitted to Chattanooga so we were leaning towards it, thanks for your advice!
