What does it mean to be "Texas German", besides the obvious? What is so cool about them???

Just curious....I've never heard the term before.

Louisiana French and French Louisiana--such integral parts of the beautiful, dynamic American South.

Try again.

More impressive is your selective reasoning. You point out that Texas, being a state of too many outside influences, is the reason it isn't a part of your American South, yet one can say the exact same thing about Louisiana, and you include them anyway. Why? Because they don't have a city that's a threat to Atlanta.

Again, I admire your stubbornness. Then again, you're too far gone to admit that you're wrong, so you pretty much have no choice but to keep up this act.

"Sister Kenya". Making a pathetic attempt at insults, are we? You're clearly bothered. I'm all up in your spirit.

Read the links.

Texas German
is the name of the dialect.

German Texans are the people.

I am not insulting you--I wouldn't condescend and do that to someone on a forum. As if. Don't try to draw me in. Just being playful/light-hearted, sistah!

And, more importantly--I'm not wrong. Dare to dream.

Louisiana: a mini-region of The American South

Texas: a Non-American South "nation"/region with its own mini-regions.

It took you 35 minutes to come up with that, and you're still without a solid argument?

Here's some facts for you, but cling to your delusions, if you must:

Southern United States - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Um, Kenya, I am not (nor am I able to) just hang(ing) out on her. Are you? Can you?

Must be nice (but still kind of weird that you would say something or comeback like that).

You know you have nothing else to do. You're obviously committed to this topic, as you've contributed plenty of posts over the past few dozen pages, but have yet to say anything credible.

When you have a solid point to make, it doesn't take 30 minutes to figure out exactly what it's going to be.

On a quick work break, so had a few minutes to write. Speaking of Texas Germans? Here is a great article which destroys the myth that the bulk of them were anti-secession and pro-Union. It starts with how it originated, then de-bunks it piece by piece.

Gotta get back to work, but will reply to your earlier missive when possible! BTW -- the beer idea sounds good!
