I know Atlanta isn't the most urban and extensively developed city there is, but let's not act as though every single square inch of DC is densely developed by comparison. You can find areas like this in just about every U.S. city, especially along the outer edges (like the above links depict in both Atlanta and DC). The only exception is probably the borough of Manhattan.

Thanks for saving me the time. All of those areas the other poster posted were straddling nature preserves on the outskirts of the city. One point of correction, even Manhattan has areas like those.
Oh yes it is! Native DC'ers like yourself as country as heck. It's the millions of transplants from other real northeastern cities that gives DC some sophistication. Most of the East/Northeast DC is both country and ghetto.
I know. It's a dumb thread, right? But when certain immature boosters are let out of the cage then we counter by exagerating things a bit, for the sake of everyone seeing how silly it all sounds.
By the way, DC is more urban. But so what?

The premise is More Urban = Better.
Certainly not true in this case IMHO, and I've lived in both cities. I have old friends from my days in NYC that were charmed by the fact that Atlanta had sylvan neighborhoods up against highrise development. Go figure...to each his own.
i'm a fan of both cities. always had a blast @ both
ATL has a formidable world skyline
