Out of all the cities I believe Detroit has the most Originaility, for ex the slang, fashion, music we make is totally different from the entire nation, not saying that we don't have some of the same slang and fashion but we have stuff that's exclusive to Detroit only. Detroit is very hated for what ever reason but, Detroit changed this country and I wouldnt be America without Detroit for Example Motown, and ford motor company.
Tell me why you agree or disagree.
How is your city the most original?
I agree, I believe Detroit is a pretty original place. I also think New Orleans is probably the most. This is one of the only places in the country where the culture is not "American" but "New Orleanian" or "Louisianan".
i agree. throw in there at the same time chicago pioneering house and nyc hip hop. detroit while a shadow of its former self today, will always get the credit of being the first original car-oriented city and was Motor City before LA got the attention of being a haven for car-culture. personally if i could go back to the late 60s, i think id rather drive down Woodward blvd than Wilshire blvd. Also must give credit for the great artists that contributed to the distinctive Motown sound. Maybe its these harsh winters. If someones cooped up for 4-6 months during the cold weather, people will find a way to hone their crafts. well that and drink a ridiculous amount of alcohol...
I think of Detroit just as unique as LA and NYC and Chicago. I mean, Detroit was in the top 5 most populous from 1930 to 1970. There had to be something unique about the city. Never managed to top Philly though.
