@KodeBlue, did you miss where I said that DC and Baltimore are both more privy to their own teams?
All you see in Baltimore is O's and Ravens decals, that was never my argument. I understand your perspective now, but your earlier comment had stated that you'd see more Steelers and Pats stuff in Washington than Skins. Go back and read your post. Thats the only reason why I addressed it....

Kidphilly said Washington D.C's CSA, which includes Baltimore. I'm speaking from the Baltimore aspect of D.C's CSA. What I said really has nothing to do with DC. Since people like to use CSAs (which is why this thread was created in the first place), I talked about used the more portion of the CSA. This dialogue between you and I strengthen the argument of why Baltimore and DC being combined as one entity is a silly idea in the first place.
I said that to see you cry but dirty bathrooms ahahah I did not see that one coming.
Well I'm honored that my opinion means so much to you that it affects what you post .
Well it was more the fact they have plastic bathroom sinks like something you would see outside a group of porta potties, never seen that at a ballpark.

They both seem pretty distinct to me in regards to sports alliances.
This is a lie. The Redskins are extremely popular, and you will see so much Redskins apparel in a days time, from hats to car flags, I dont know how you figured this. Even PG County, is a Skins hotbed...
However, I agree that DC and Bmore are very loyal to their own teams. That much is evident in a trip throughout the metros. But as a collective, B/W has to be considered a dominant sportss region. I dont know if its more dominant than the Bay, more lively, but its close...
What do you mean "even in PG County...."? The Skins play in PG County, so yes, it should be a hotbed.
I didn't feel people in the Bay Area were "big" sports fans, at least nothing like my experience in Chicago or what I have seen on the East Coast, did not have that vibe at all. Now maybe in Oakland there is that presence, but I didn't feel that way in SF... not tons of sports bars, or even a sports vibe really. I just don't see SF as a rowdy die hard sports type of place, maybe Oakland can pull it through in terms of a fan base. Maybe it used to be.
I'd say it is more of a battle between Oakland and Baltimore.
As far as good teams and champions go, easily Bay Area though (might have been best in the country in the 80s/90s. 49ers were always my favorite team from growing up.
say that to the MILLION in attendance at the victory parade for the 2012 World Champion San Francisco Giants this past Halloween in SF ... Giant fans are passionate and numerous, don't speak unless you know what you're talking about
MLB: SF Bay Area
Orioles overall have better attendance than the A's but they also have a much nicer ballpark in a much better location but the A's have more overall success and under the right ownership have been a great ballclub with good attendance. The Giants have better attendance than the Nationals and more success overall, although that's not saying much, but the Nats are very new to DC.
NFL: Slight edge to SF Bay Area
Both Niners and Redskins have good fanbases but Niners have more success. Raiders have more history with Oakland than the Ravens with Baltimore and an annoyingly rabid fanbase.
NBA: SF Bay Area
Both teams are pretty pathetic when it comes to winning and making the playoffs but the Warriors have higher attendance, one of the best in the NBA, and a very loyal and passionate fanbase.
NHL: Tie, maybe edge to DC?
I don't really follow hockey so I can't say. I feel a lot of Sharks fans are fair weather. I have a feeling DC may be better for this.
Overall I'd probably say the SF Bay Area, DC seems to have a higher percentage of transplants which kind of brings down the level of passion and loyalty imo.
sharks fans are fair weather? are u kidding me? haha ... wow you really dont follow hockey do u, cause if u did u would know that the sharks have one of the strongest fan bases in the NHL, passionate, loyal, and the tank is always packed to the gills (pardon the pun lol) the San Jose Sharks are always good, each year they make the playoffs and being the only hockey team in the entire northern cali region adds to their popularity, u dont have to be a fan to see why they are successful in gaining a large fan base and keeping them interested... sure they dont have an Ovi, but many great players have played for the sharks over the years, go to a game in the shark tank and you'll see what im talking about
