I would only put NYC and maybe LA or Chicago above Philadelphia when it comes to being a basketball city.

Between professional players and coaches that hail from Philly, The Big 5 Collegiate history and The Sixers history (althought at present they are abysmal) and the street ball culture, it is hard to find a better basketball city than Philly.

The Lakers are to basketball what the Cowboys are to football.

The most popular teams in the country.

DC fans will routinely leave or just not show up for games.

Lately maybe over time Philly may have the best starting 5 to have played and the Sixers and College history is stronger for Philly
