Those were primarily weekend escapes instead of full time residences---usually they resided in the City but 'weekended' out in what was then considered the country, but today is just suburbia.. Its really quite fascinating.

I prefer income segregation, too.
I love having all sorts of ethnicities, religions, professions, etc.
But I also love living in a safe, beautiful area with zoning.

A little different but not too different, eh? As long as they act and think like you they can be any ethnicity, eh? That's real white of you.

Some of the upper class moved out, the middle class did not as much.

I see you're not familiar with old Anglo-American sayings. A fella has a hard time cracking wise around here.

Is Stan American Indian or Asian Indian?

Derrrrrrrr...I am not white.
I'm also a woman and gay.
And I live in a very wealthy part of town.
If thinking like me means working really hard, having solid financial goals and the willingness to bust ass to get there, thinking education is paramount, and believing that keeping our community safe and nice looking is important is something screwed up in your mind, well...I don't know what to tell you.

After I kill myself at work, the entire time on my feet putting out one disaster after another, I drive home the 25 miles back to my house, and just seeing the rolling green hills on the golf course and spotless streets with bikers, walkers, and children running with their dogs set against large, welcoming homes...it's like a freakin' tonic. My whole body smiles and relaxes. Sorry if that disturbs you so. Take that back. I'm not sorry.
