These claims always fall on deaf ears as SF's crime and inner city areas are not publicized in the national media to save SF's image as a safe tourist city. SF is actually middle of the pack when it comes to crime and ghettoness and SF is definitely not as safe as cities like Honolulu and San Jose or even NYC.

 I hope this thread sticks around for a good long time.

New Orleans:

"Its terrible after Katrina (or so I hear)"
All neighborhoods are crime-filled hell holes and nowhere is safe to walk
Progress isn't fast enough! My city would do it better.
"N'awlins" being an annoying, touristy way to refer to the city

DC:
Crime! OMG so much crime and I am so scared!
Where are the $900 2BR apartments?
I am tired of the men/women here. They are ugly and no one wants to date me

A lot of people from Northern and Eastern states think Phoenix is going to "run out of water". They're convinced of it, and it's not open for discussion. That or immigration politics.

"Is it Northeastern or Midwestern? I'm asking anyway even though I've already made up my mind that it's Midwestern because it's not located right on I-95!"

"Stupid yinzer white trash! Your accent sucks and so does your favorite football team! I'm better than you!"

"Why the **** are there 132 different municipal governments in Allegheny County?"

"Who gives a **** that I-376 desperately needs to be upgraded to modern Interstate standards? Let's just keep it the way it is so that people will be forced to take the bus or train!"

"Watch the millage rates not be reset lower once the property reassessments are finalized, even though there's a state law that forbids tax windfalls from property reassessments! I'm gonna move to Butler/Washington County!"

"LOL no diversity LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11"

"There was this one time I saw a Confederate flag in Westmoreland County! All people in Westmoreland County are racist!"

"The weather sucks 'cuz it's cloudy 369 days a year! I'm gonna move to Arizona and then post once every three months on the Pittsburgh board about how glad I am to leave such depressing weather!"

"Stupid alcohol laws!"

"Yes, they're in the process of widening the Pennsylvania Turnpike to six lanes! Just because the segments near you haven't been widened doesn't mean that none of it has!"

At the moment there is none really for Seattle. I was hoping to start up a conversation hypothesizing a Bridge going across the Puget Sound Connect the West Sound alot closer to Seattle!

Well since a bridge had recently collapsed on the interstate north of the city I think fixing bridges should be a bigger issue rather than constructing long distance ones that aren't really needed. The ferry system is good enough.

True, the state definitely need to fix the old bridges to superior standards, but go on the Seattle forum and read my post. I think it could be an interesting discussion that could justify such a expense.
