You really need to take this comedy show on the road....
If Nashville really was on this level, “LA” wouldn’t need to be invoked. Any time you see these types of analogies that rely on the bigger brand you know you’re looking at hype. You don’t see Seattle saying their the SF of the PNW, Vegas saying they’re the NYC of the desert, etc.
I doubt you've stepped foot in Nashville, there's a reason it has one of the highest occupancy rates for hotels in the country. If you get a chance to visit Nashville i think you will change your tune. Nashville is on most people's radar these days.
I've been there, and it was fine, IMO. It's a place people I know have visited once, and then counted that as their one trip to Nashville, with no need to return.
While Atlanta is a cute little southern city, it ain't no Cashville.
You are correct indeed. It’s geographically small, hella cute and in the South. And it’s definitely not “no Cashville.” It’s The ATL, The A, A-Town or your favorite: The capital of the South.
Also I don't think that nightlife is the main spur of inner-urban gentrification but more so vicinity to employment amenities found in the core of a metro without the need of sitting in traffic for 2 hours when you don't 'have' to as Millenials without children do not need to shop good schools or need a 3 Bedroom home so they can pay for a much smaller place much closer to their job. Nightlife is either being reshaped as a by-product or ultimately nullified as a result.
Nightlife itself is being pushed out due to greater demand and rising property costs. The two-story nightlife venue gets replaced for a 25-story luxury apartment building....wash, rinse, repeat.
