technically AC is no longer recognized as part of the Philly Metro, but for all intents and purposes, it is a satellite city of Philadelphia.
Close enough... and South Jersey beaches are still considered a part of the Philadelphia region culturally and historically and will one day again be added back to the MSA or CSA. It takes an hour to drive to AC, you can drive for an hour in most other metro areas and still be within the metro area. Philadelphia has a relatively small metro area for a city it's size (sq mileage wise). I think Philadelphia gets to claim AC, rightfully.

Correct, that's why he said "technically . . . but for all intents and purposes."

I agree, but I also think Philly gets to claim Trenton and Lancaster, but some dusty old coot in some city 100 miles away disagrees.
Trenton should be a part of both the Philadelphia and New York CSA because Philadelphia and New York should have the same CSA.
I'm ambivalent on that topic. On one hand, Philadelphia's MSA and CSA are insultingly underrepresented, on the other hand, making Philadelphia play second fiddle to New York seems like an invitation for Philadelphia to lose its identity in future generations.
this Philly bias is a little nauseating. and i live in Philly. its a good bar town but can't compete with the Boston/DC club/lounges
DC & Boston have some of the best nitelife in the country.
i think they all bring something to the table. there's no way one is better than the other
i.e. - people need to go out more in these cities before posting
