Lincoln, NE is a pretty good one for a 300K metro area. It doesn't hurt having a 400 foot state capitol building.

Downtown Lincoln kinda looks remarkably similar to the University of Texas campus:

Haha, nice catch!

I have heard other people compare the Nebraska state capitol building and the main building at UT, but that picture really shows off the comparisons.

Some of these are just bedroom communities to much larger metros.

Des Moines is pretty good, and it's less than half the size of metro Louisville who's winning.

That's a good one, however if we are ignoring the OP's list, the champion of mid-sized city skylines is Pittsburgh.

On the homepage of this web site, above the links, is this sentence: "Or browse by state (first link for each state is for cities with over 6000 residents, second is for smaller towns)"

So anybody who thinks Atlantic City is not a city should not be hanging out on this site.

Pittsburgh has over 2 million people. Not a mid-sized city. Not at all.

Actually, Baltimore is the 21st largest city, not 18th (that would go to Detroit at 714,000). Yes, Baltimore is a mid-sized city.

I am surprised Indianapolis hasnt been mentioned (I dont think). I grew up there and it now has a skyline that rivals metro areas of similar size.
