Will L.A. be more filled with mid and high rises? Will NYC have a crazy set of tall buildings where people would actually be living on upper levels of the city? Will Chicago top the sears tower?

More highrises and mid-rises in all three.

Out of all cities to pick why would you choose LA? It's not really a highrise city to begin with! Miami would be the obvious contender since it already has the 3rd. largest amount of highrises in the US after NYC & Chicago.

Won't be any different. They won't start tearing down buildings just to reconstruct them and make them more modern. As it is, there's no room to build any new buildings in downtown areas.

This is definitely not true about Los Angeles or Chicago.

In all three cities they are already tearing down buildings to make way for larger, more dense and (in Los Angeles' case) more mixed use.

I would imagine the city with the least change over the next 100 years is New York, followed by Chicago, followed by Los Angeles - this simply because LA has the most room for change (though Chicago certainly has plenty of open space for new development too).

As far as skylines, Los Angeles will probably look more like Chicago, Chicago more like Manhattan, and NYC - who knows maybe Brooklyn will become Manhattan 2.0 in terms of high-rises (hope not).

Not sure about 100 years from now, but in 23 years Chicago will look like this.
