Very interesting that the city in SC that gets the most tourists hasn't been mentioned once thus far.

Neither is Charleston for that matter; there are lots of mentions in this thread of small cities. Asheville, Savannah, Atlantic City, Santa Fe, etc. have been mentioned several times as the preferred options in their respective states, and with good reason.

Lol Chicago just completely overshadows anything else in that state, I mean what other options do people have? East St Louis? Peoria?

I'm guessing one of the large "city" suburbs like Evanston? And isn't Rockford out of the Chicago metro?
