Questions:
- Which one would you rather live in? And why?
These two are more so similar in size and power and all that other stuff.
- Weather - dc. it was like 75 yesterday and 65 today. it will snow in toronto this week.
- Scenery - dc
- Economy - dc, growing faster and higher gdp.
- Parks - dc
- Waterfront - tie
- Nightlife - tie. georgetown looks just as lively as tdot's entertainment district and i'm not just saying that because i'm bitter about another thread.
- Safety - toronto
- Downtown activity - dc
- Shopping - maybe toronto, not sure
- Diversity - toronto
- Housing stock - dc
- School systems (K-12) - city schools will go to toronto at least for safety, i'm not too sure about academics. academics are what you make them. i find it hard to blame a whole school for your failures. plenty of people have come up and done well coming from dc schools.
- Higher education (Colleges & Universities) - dc
- Mass Transit - dc
- Niche Industry (What are they for either?) - idk. toronto has a lot of finance, dc has a lot of tech and of course the government.
- Pace of life - dc
- Quality of life - dc
- Cost of living - idk
- Dining scene - tie. toronto probably has more international options, especially middle eastern, but dc being the capital, lots of diplomats and foreign leaders go out for dinner here and you can't serve them crap. plus dc still has an absolute abundance of international options.

dc because it's not in canada, i'm from here, i think it's in a better location, it has more landmarks, and it's the capital of the world's greatest superpower.

I really like Toronto a lot - more than most U.S. cities in fact. However, Washington DC is just very happening right now. So I give it the edge over Toronto. Great comparison.
I've been to both, I love both for various reasons.
Criteria:
- Weather: DC (Toronto has better summer weather, DC would be better for me in the winter, but still crappy)
- Scenery: DC (aside from the lake, I found the terrain around the GTA to be boring)
- Economy: Tie. Toronto is the economic workhorse of Canada, so I'll give the edge to them, but DC is no slouch
- Parks: Toronto
- Waterfront: DC has done a better job at preserving their waterfront from being over developed. Much of the Erie waterfront in DT Toronto is condo city.
- Nightlife: Tie. DC has more of the music that I listen to, BUT Toronto has a huge nightlife scene of its own. Lots of influence from New York, Chicago, and even Detroit up there.
- Safety: Toronto
- Downtown activity: Toronto
- Shopping: Tie
- Diversity: Tie, slight edge to Toronto
- Housing stock: Tie
- School systems (K-12): Toronto. While many DC area suburbs have great school districts, DC Public Schools and PG County leave a lot to be desired.
- Higher education (Colleges & Universities): DC
- Mass Transit: Tie. The Metro is one of the best subway systems in North America, but Toronto has an excellent and extensive Streetcar system + Subway + extensive Commuter rail
- Niche Industry (What are they for either?): Tie? DC is government, tech, and biomedical. Toronto is the financial center of Canada.
- Pace of life: Subjective. Both are pretty hectic, but DC feels more fast paced and hurried, and traffic there suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucksssssssss.
- Quality of life: Subjective, BUT Toronto usually ranks fairly high in many polls and lists
- Cost of living: T-dot is expensive for Canada, but it's cheaper than DC for the most part. The COL of the DC area is a major turn-off to me.
- Dining scene: Tie, but edge to Toronto for Jamaican/Caribbean and authentic Chinese cuisine. Edge to DC for Seafood, Ethiopian, Middle Eastern, and Korean

Toronto, because I'm from there and it's in Canada
LMFAO you americans are soo sick in ur minds, you guys might start saying
skyline - DC
dude, shut up. read your posts in the other thread about miami and then check yourself.
the dmv is bigger than greater toronto, we have a higher gdp, we're the capital of a superpower, we're more high tech, we have a huge defense industry, we're in a fairly mild climate, our public transport system is more modern and more extensive, and we're growing at a faster rate than toronto.
aside from diversity and its skyline, toronto doesn't have much else on dc, with the exception of maybe a couple extra industries such as finance. other than that, screw it.
