No but are similar when Dallas and Minneapolis are the primary cities of the metro area where both St Paul and Fort Worth are secondary. The way they are laid out are similar like the interstate example 35W and 35E etc. I635.

Ok, Ill bite:

1. Urban: DFW is much larger, but for their size MSP is more urban
2. Public Transit: Dallas
3. Skylines: Dallas
4. Sports: Dallas
5. Downtowns: Downtown Dallas isnt that great, Downtown Fort Worth is awesome. Both Minneapolis and St. Paul have nice downtowns, so ill give it to MSP
6. Shopping: Dallas for sure
7. The Arts: Thats close, but MSP
8. Museums: Fort Worth
9. Music: Tie
10. Architecture: I prefer MSP
11. Climate: DFW for sure
12. Economy: Tie, both are very robust
13. Neighborhoods: I prefer DFW
14. Night life: Dallas for me
15. Airport: DFW has more destinations and has a much larger domestic and international traffic base, so DFW

Either way these are both metro areas that I am very fond of. I love MSP and could live there if it werent so cold. But I am happy to call DFW home.

urbanologist: RE: airports, I can't really compare as I have not been to DFW's airport. But what I like about MSP's is that it is so close in, and it is equidistant (by law!) between Mpls and St Paul. Except in rush hour, you can drive between either downtown and the main terminal in ~ 20-25 minutes. Also, the LRT from Mpls or the express bus from St Paul will get you there in ~30 minutes or less.

If large malls were a measure of how good shopping is, yes.

But Dallas is the superior shopping city of the 4 (Dallas, Fort Worth, Minneapolis, and St. Paul). Especially when it comes to upscale shopping.
