It's a topic that has been discussed here time and time again, but upon thinking about this I think there are only three, yes three American cities that can legitimately be considered world class. Those cities are:

New York City
Los Angeles
San Francisco

That's it.

Others, like Chicago, DC, Philly, and Seattle come very close but aren't quite there. The three cities above are the only cities in America that can play with the likes of London, Paris, Sydney, Tokyo, etc. Agree or disagree?

Disagree, SF and LA are nowhere near the level of London.

I was actually debating LA. LA has world class amenities but it can be debated whether or not its a truly world class city. There are some things it is lacking that world class cities should have.

San Francisco is world class without a doubt though.

There are only four cities in the US that have the entire package when defining "World Class"

New York
Chicago
Los Angeles
San Francisco

Honorable mention:
Boston
Washington DC

There is a certain criteria needed to be elevated as a world class destination.

Some cities may offer more choices than others but as long as the amenities are there and are world renown it is "World Class".. I have never known the term "More World Class". You either are or not.

I would put Chicago into the honorable mention category. It's close and is one of the greatest cities in America, but it can't play with London, Paris, etc. Los Angeles is even debatable but I think it just barely makes it.

By your logic though if SF is world class them so is DC and Chicago

Honestly, only NY is world class.

I can make a case for Chicago though.

I can definitely see this point of view. Can you give me an example though as to why San Francisco isn't world class?
