Hello,
I'm just curious as to which city people think is more conservative. Both have a reputation for being conservative in many ways but I'm not sure which one would be moreso.
I could see that. I used to live in Baton Rouge, but haven't spent much time much time in Houston. Considering a move there--just wanted to get a feel for what people think.
Baton Rouge is more socially conservative imo. The Southern Democrats in the city are very Churchy and morally conservative and are offended by things. The police state here in Baton Rouge is crazy strong. Checkpoints everywhere and cops treat you like a suspect. Reminds my arab friends of the middle east. In Baton Rouge there's a strong Tea Party power base that will sabotage and block any public works projects that benefit the lower class. They will however support giving money to developers and businesses, supposedly for the benefit of all.
Houston on the other hand certainly has a strong GOP following, and the Houston burbs are basically GOP strong holds. Houston seems to focus a lot on being family friendly and both are interstate/highway cultures.
