I'm a college educated black American, as well as an entrepreneur, and im looking at expanding into a second city. Honestly, I'm intrigued by the urban experience that Philly offers, but that won't be the deciding factor. I want the city to be diverse, as this is what I'm used to, but also have its fair share of beautiful black women. Can you guys offer a little insight on these cities?

Atlanta sounds like the best fit based on your criteria.

I voted Atlanta, but any of these cities would serve your aspirations well.

If ethnic diversity is important to you, Atlanta wouldn't be a good fit. From my experience with Atlanta, and even looking at the demographics on paper, its a very black/white city. Houston is diverse on paper, but still pretty segregated and not as urban as your experience with Philadelphia.

I voted Philly.

If you think Houston is segregated, what do you think Philly is?

I would say that it depends on what your business is because Atlanta can be very deceasing, if you're not actually a part of the day to day life. So my vote would be to target a city based on your business needs, not on racial demographics. No one can really answer this without knowing your industry. Beautiful women in Atlanta are primarily on the Television. Ratchet city is the majority of what you're get when you get there, LOL, someone is going to be mad as hell at me for saying that. But hey you may be looking for that.

Atlanta is the best city for young professionals followed by Houston. We have plenty of things to do for young professionals. Our business culture is more positive compared to Philly (Less taxes/red tape/etc). Our nightlife is better, we have more attractive women, we have more things to do for young professionals, we have the largest airport in the country which means we have direct flights anywhere you want, cheaper COL (Houston is probably the same as Atlanta), decent weather, etc.

As far as a well-developed, strong, and lively black middle class is concerned, Atlanta is tough to beat in that regard. Only DC - in my opinion - has a stronger black middle class.

I think all of these cities are known for their progressive business/employment opportunities for people of all colors and are increasingly diverse. Philadelphia and Atlanta have the most historically large middle-class black communities, but I know that Houston's most recent robust economic growth has provided a great economic environment for minority groups, as well.

Only Philadelphia, though, will provide you with an authentic and traditionally-urban experience.

Good luck!

You late. Houston use to have some of the wealthiest black neighborhoods in the country. Successful blacks isn't a new thing to Houston.
