New Orleans should have been a choice.

Love the spook factor to that town, those mossy trees in South Louisiana, along red brick "cavern/boutique" style structures adds to it.

What a super city New Orleans could be if it had a little more of a size factor to work with.

There's nothing scary about Boston but right outside of it is dense tree covered (often hilly) forests, with huge fog covers (night to early morning), and lots of large estate sized/acreage plots with homes on it, often further spaced from other civilizations, and at night I would image that's terrifying if you live alone.

Saint Augustine, Florida is the oldest city in America, I think.

Hmm...saw this thread and I was thinking "definitely gonna vote New Orleans," but unfortunately it was not listed. The city at night just has this haunted feel to it (probably just my imagination).

I think New Orleans and Philadelphia need to be on this list. I would have voted for one of those 2 cities.

My opinion? The Lower East Side of New York, where the infamous Five Points section was located is very active. Five Points was a violent crime ridden area.
Chronicled in the movie "Gangs of New York" there was much to recommend that neighborhood to entities - the Collect Pond of fetid water, murder, child abuse, back alley abortions and the horror of the Baby Farmers.
