in new york city if you miss a train in the subway a lot of the times all you have to do is wait just 2 minutes and another train will appear.

so with that being said what other cities in america have fast coming subway systems where the waits for the train does not take long at all?

The PATH during rush hour isn't too bad, but that's NYC to NJ. The Newark Light Rail/City Subway and Patco also have a brief wait during rush hour.

The underground "METRO" in Washington DC is quite efficient ... and is an engineering marvel

Depends at peak and for events there are sometimes two subways loading simultaniously in the main Center city Broad street stops - they just keep coming and pack them in like heards

But typically the wait is 4 to 10 minutes depending on the time of day

It depends on the time, most subways no but the regional rail lines do in some places, in Philly the Regional raill lines all converge and go underground through the threee main downtown stops and can hit wait lights where they all converge especially at rush hours with higher service levels

On the NE corrider line between Amtrak Acela and Metro Lines and all the NJT lines there are times when slower trains wait for passing express trains

Also the Blue line in Chicago from Ohare to the Loop always seems like a short wait to me - never more than a couple of minutes

Yeah usually it's like 5-10 minutes for a train here in Chicago to pass.

Seattle link is 7.5 min between trains during rush hour. But in the underground the tunnels also share with buses in downtown so if just going across town a bus or train comes every minute In the tunnels underground seattle .
