Demographics of the two are very different. Camden is about half and half hispanic (mostly Puerto Rican) and black. East St. Louis is almost all black.

Since you don't specify which Camden, I will chose Camben mo. Last time I was in East St. Louis my car broke down and even the police would stop to help. One police car almost ran me over trying to ignore me. Noe would tow truck come into the area. In time I managed to get my car over the river and into MO. (less than 20 miles). Once there, 10 people in 10 minute asked if I needed help.
