Made in America festival is now coming to Los Angeles as well.

This will be the third year in Philly, held along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Center City, Philadelphia.

This will be the first year in Los Angeles, held in Grand Park in Downtown Los Angeles.

Philadelphia has the better lineup. I live a few blocks from Grand Park where the LA MiA concert will be held, and I can tell you that a lot of people that bought early are selling their tickets now that the lineup has been revealed. FYF has a much better lineup and is half the price.

I would mind seeing Kendrick Lamar and Ab Soul at MiA, but hey, I get so see Earl Sweatshirt at FYF this summer so that makes up for it.

In terms of which will be the better show, I don't know much about the Philly venue, but there are serious doubts as to whether DTLA's Grand Park can handle those kinds of crowds. Its big but its not that big. I was there for this past NYE celebration and it was so jammed that it took like 45 minutes to get out.

Grand Park

Thanks for the info!

I think Grand Park can hold it:

It would have been nice if the "Made in America" festival remained a uniquely Philly thing. Similar to how the Essence Music Festival is exclusively in New Orleans. It's a shame that Philly has to share the spotlight with a larger city and a bigger media capitol as Philly doesn't really get a lot of national coverage that doesn't involve something negative. It's only a matter of time before Los Angeles takes over the festival as the premier city and Philly will have to "play second fiddle".

Philly should have the better lineup this year but since Los Angeles has a lot more famous musicians living in close proximity, L.A. will probably have a better line-up in the years to come.
