I've worked for 3 of the companies listed above and all 3 moved to their current headquarters from where they were originally formed. I wonder how many of these companies move their headquarters and why?

I don't believe Gordon County (Mohawk) is in the Atlanta CSA (yet)so Atlanta's should be 15.

St Louis has 9 Fortune 500 companies. I guess the only reason its not on the list is it has slightly under 3 million in its MSA. Not bad being in the company of Denver, Philly, and Seattle.

24. Express Scripts Holding (60)
123. Emerson (120)
206. Monsanto (224)
275. Reinsurance Group of America (289)
303. Centene (453)
315. Peabody Energy (338)
373. Ameren (340)
465. Graybar Electric (451)
491. Jones Financial (516)

Fannie Mae in DC is number 13, not 1 (whew! I was about to say)

Also, Dominion is based in the Richmond area which is not in the DC CSA

Can we add Cargill to the MSP total? Per wikipedia it would be number 9 if it were publicly traded.

Well, if it were a publicly traded company, then it would be on the Fortune 500 list, right?

This is kind of pathetic but you can add 2 to Philadelphias modest amount giving it 11 . Delaware Companies- Dupont and SLM should be included. You could also make a good argument that another handful of the Princeton-Trenton-Ewing Companies should be added. But thats a story for another day.

Trenton is definitely one that has been debated before on this forum. I agree with you and it is definitely one for another discussion.
