I thought some of these images were cool and worth sharing. They truly show how dense some cities (Chicago) and how sprawled other cities (Atlanta) are and how other cities (Houston) fall right in between the two.
These images leave no doubt to anyone's mind that Atlanta's sprawl might be the worst in the nation. Even if it does have a true urban core, Phoenix appears to be more cohesive from space.
Very interesting. Viewing from just those pictures, Atlanta does look to have some serious sprawl...but I guess it makes sense when the city is only 400k and the metro area is over 5 million.
I can see one day all of the Texas cities connecting. You can see Houston, Dallas/fort worth, Austin, and San Antonio along with small metros of Waco, kileen, and beumont.
The Atlanta image at ~ 7:00-8:00. What/ where is that? It's rather distinct.
That's Hartsfield Jackson International Airport. The black bars are the runways and the bright dashes between them are all of the terminal buildings.
