Ohio cornfields are scenic compared to driving anywhere in east-central Illinois. Interstate 57 comes to mind. Land is flat as a board, corn, and telephone polls.

One thing about parts of VA and OH in the Appalachians is that the valleys are often so steep it feels like you're in the bowels of something.
