The tropics really do start in South Florida. The current temps in Orlando is 54, while only 2hrs and 45mins South in West Palm Beach, the current temp is 73 degrees.
Felt cold all day in LA: Miami looks good right now.
But our resident expert, L.A-Mex, has claimed L.A's winter highs range from 70s on normal days to 90s on hot days (multiple times on the weather forum). In another thread about which climate would be more comfortable without central heating, he claims that Miami requires MUCH more heat than L.A. because of their arctic cold snaps that might reach 40 F at night (after a daytime highs in the low 60s) once in the average year and and at or below freezing once every 5-20 years while L.A's coast stays above 50 F at night and is virtually frostproof.
L.A-Mex's L.A. doesn't get "cold snaps" so it's either always normal (70s), above normal (80s), or way above normal (90s or 100s) in winter so how is it possible that we could be getting highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s inland and low 40s on the immediate coast for the next few days?

This thread is about Winter. LA can't touch Miami for weather in the Winter.
I know what it says but LA and the rest of socal is known for the best weather in the world and an abundance of sunshine, even in the winter . LA is the only city where its hit over 90 degrees in winter. Has less rain and more sunshine than Miami in every season.

your claims about my claims are BS like always.
LA average winter highs range from 65 F - 71 F in its coldest and warmest micro climates (respectively)
neither require heat, i stated that in the other thread, and argued for LA coast not inland regions as you said in a neighborhood of choice, so i chose coastal cities.
we are currently going through a cold snap.
Its called weather, WEATHER. weather varies its not always dead on average, it varies, a week ago temps in the area reached 90s, now its in the 60s, on Wednesday some places wont crack 60 F, that is how it is, its WEATHER.
But our FOREIGN EXPERT ABrandNewWorld, living far off in either San Jose or Melbourne, apparantly knows our climate like the palm of her hand, and while i keep posting factual data she goes against it, but who am I, a 2 decade long Angeleno, to argue with this meteorologist from Melboure/San Jose about my climate.
