Exactly. I go to DTLA a few times a week (wife works there, it's a 30 minute train ride from Pasadena) and I have not been to LA Live in years. The real axis of DTLA is around Broadway and 7th. There is no doubt LA Live has a huge tourist draw and the surrounding area of South Park is the largest in terms of adding new units, but it's not really an area locals are drawn to. In fact, I think the formerly bland / sterile Bunker Hill / Civic Center area may be more of a local draw with Grand Park, the Music Center, MOCA and soon the Broad Museum and Grand Avenue megaproject all at the top of the hill.
.
Yep, other than a game or a concert, I see no reason to go to LA Live.
Why am I always the only sensible Pro-Miami poster in these threads? Other pro-Miami posters just come in these threads with hot-take, hyperbole fueled drive-by's like "DT Miami is better than downtown LA because, DT LA has homeless people and smells like urine. And DT Miami is better because it has more highrises than DT LA". On the flipside, every LA poster puts together sensible arguments as to why DT LA is the superior of the two. LA posters discussed the historic and cultural offerings that DT LA brings, they talk about the revitalization efforts of previous "dead-zones" of DT LA, they discuss the upcoming transit options that will be made available to DT LA, and they also breakdown all the various shopping districts, and ethnic enclaves which fall within the boundaries/boarders of downtown Los Angeles. And LA posters have posted links, and photos. Kudos to the LA posters. Can a pro-Miami poster please post some photos of the revitalized Flagler? And photos of Mary Brickell, and other adjacent districts to downtown Miami. Please?
Awesome. Can you post some photos of Bunker Hill? And the hilly parts of Chinatown?
