After living in Michigan for over 26 years, I have finally landed a job in Kentucky. I've been in Kentucky for a few nights, here are my observations:
-Southern Drawl: Anybody who says Kentucky isn't southern is crazy. The drawl alone makes it obviously southern.
-Hills and curves: I can't even get to 55 because I could go over a curve at any time. (But it sure is pretty to look at)
-Houses: Does everyone make 6 figures here? I pictured Kentucky as poor, but everywhere I go there are HUGE houses with huge yards. (compared to MI)
-Horses: probably goes without saying but there are huge horse pens here compared to MI.
-Liquor: it's cheap here. (Ok this obviously isn't important, just throwing it in for fun)
Over all so far I'm loving Kentucky. The weather is far superior to MI. (April in a T and flip flops?
) But also the scenery seems to be underrated, the hills are beautiful and there's no such thing as a boring flat road.
Lastly, this is very cleary the south. I'm quite confident Kentucky is more similar to GA/AL/MS than it is to MI/WS/MN.
