I'm curious what cities are closest (driving) to the most major cities.

What are the closest cities to you?

Are you defining major cities as those with metropolitan populations of 1 million+?

BosWash, certainly. But Pittsburgh is a good, less obvious answer.

About equidistant from Chicago and New York, with a heck of a lot in between on both sides.

Probably most of them are in the Northeast

Wilmington, Delaware is a city close to Philadelphia, Baltimore, DC, Allentown, and a few hours from NYC.

Hartford, Connecticut is a city close to Boston, NYC, Providence, Springfield, and Albany.

I'd imagine somewhere like Philadelphia would have the most major cities within a relatively short drive.

New York City - 94 miles
Baltimore - 100 miles
Washington, DC - 138 miles
Pittsburgh - 305 miles
Boston - 320 miles

At the other end the spectrum, Denver is probably among the furthest away from the next major city

Salt Lake City - 520 miles
Kansas City - 604 miles

New York or Philly. NY is closer to DC than Philly is to Boston.

New York is about 225 miles to both Boston and DC with Philly and Baltimore even closer.
