Which CSA is America's top education capital at all levels (K-12, Undergraduate, Graduate, so on)?

New York, Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay Area, Washington DC-Baltimore, Chicago, Philadelphia?

America's Top 1,000 High-Schools Concentrations by Metropolitan Area:
1. New York: 153
2. Los Angeles: 66
3. Chicago: 42
4. Washington DC-Baltimore: 39
5. Philadelphia: 32
6. San Francisco Bay Area: 19*
7. Boston: 15

* Could be much higher by CSA but the map only includes "metropolitan areas" (meaning MSAs) that have 10 or more. San Jose, in theory could have 9, but its not on the map because 9 is not 10.

You are free to include comprehensive and logical rankings of elementary level schools, middle level schools, or graduate school program rankings for other disciplines (nursing, education, fine arts, so on and so forth). You are also free to include other ranking agencies apart from USNews (that was used in this thread) as well.

Make an argument for which CSA should be viewed as the premier educational capital of the United States when education from ALL LEVELS are accounted for. Please make an argument for or against cities on the list accordingly.

CSAs? If your first comparison is MSAs, I would think you would continue with that in your thread. Are you just including CSAs, so certain cities can capture rankings that aren't in their MSAs???

Boston, in my opinion. I don't put any weight on top high schools.

If you aren't taking high schools seriously then I suggest you make your own thread that excludes it and other K-12 from the criteria, because they are apart of the discussion of this thread.

Boston is normally the right answer, but looking at k-12 and expanding to CSA where Princeton is included, NYC is making a strong case. I haven't voted yet this really has me thinking.

I see the K-12 list but within California, we have API(Academic Performance Index)scores for every public school in the State of California, based on a standardized test. A school score of 900+ is considered the very highest tier and is considered most prestigious.

The Bay Area has the most 900+ schools, and just skimming through the list, we probably have the majority of 900+ schools in the state.

What I found most interesting is that nearly all of LA's 900+ high schools are specialized magnet/ gifted schools while nearly all of the Bay Area's 900+ high schools are regular enrollment.

I will go with Boston on this one. I believe the university system speaks for itself. But what may set it over the top is how Massachusetts is consistently ranked as the best state public school system in the country and even one of the best in the world.

https://nces.ed.gov/TIMSS/results11.asp

Program for International Student Assessment (PISA): 2012 Results - State Results: Massachusetts

Massachusetts students rank first in the nation for the fifth consecutive time

Most of those elite public school districts are located in the boston MSA. I think the focus on education from infancy through adulthood really is one of major importance in the Boston area.
