I would lean toward either New Orleans or Charlotte. But I will listen to some of the arguments here before I cast my official vote. I know New Orleans extremely well, and I hardly know Charlotte at all. The dark horses are probably the second tier Texas and Florida cities.

Who picked Savannah as the "most"? That makes little to no sense. I feel like people just pick their city and say that they're done with it.

Yeah, exactly. I'm not picking Norfolk/VB even if it's home simply because it's not true.

3rd Tier in no order:

Memphis, Louisville, Richmond, New Orleans, Jacksonville, Birmingham, Knoxville, Greenville, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Virginia Beach

4th Tier in no order:

Jackson, Chattanooga, Tallahassee, Mobile, Huntsville, Lexington, Columbia, Little Rock, Montgomery, El Paso, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Shreveport, Baton Rouge, Evansville, Charleston, Savannah, Augusta, Asheville

5th Tier: The rest

Cities in Italics have significant southern metro populations and ties but are not usually considered completely southern

Baltimore was historically considered Southern but Cincinnati and Evansville were never considered Southern, past or present.

Hmmm, why Austin? It does many things well but does it top any of the categories we're looking at? Doesn't seem like it.

Other ports on the East Coast could merely adapt if Savannah didn't exist. The Port of Virginia still has a *LOT* of available real estate to be developed.

Savannah is the port Atlanta never had. Savannah has the Coast Beaches and Ocean Access Atlanta wished it had
